Start time is 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 29, at the Lakeview Center at Gillson Park. Donation to participate is $30 and all proceeds go to the Ouilmette Foundation for the Parks, an independent, non-profit organization dedicated to enriching parks and community life in Wilmette.
REGISTER in advance here through the Wilmette Park District. Limited walk-up registration will be available at the Lakeview Center beginning at 7:00 a.m.
Snacks and refreshments will be provided, plus a beach towel to get you ready for the summer season. You can also enjoy bragging rights that you were the first into Lake Michigan this year as part of the splash.
At the end of the event, we will gather in Gillson Park at the newly established migratory bird habitat for a tour by Go Green Wilmette.

Just before the 100th day of Trump’s administration, Americans will rally together for one massive march on Washington, D.C. and satellite cities to demand climate protections. Learn about local opportunities for bird watching and how to create bird habitat in your backyard. We’ll also view breathtaking clips of migrating birds throughout the world.

Guided Bird Walks at Gillson Park. Every Sunday in May, beginning at 8:00 am, join us to look for colorful warblers and other migrating birds that use the lakefront to rest and eat on their way north. All experience levels and ages are welcome. Bring binoculars if you have them. Meet at the corner of Lake and Michigan Avenues. Parking is available at the Gillson Park Swim Beach lot.
