Compass plant (Silphium laciniatum)
2017 sale ended!
One of the jewels of our Illinois prairie, Compass plant has very large, rough, deeply lobed leaves and puts up a single sunflower-like bloom in late summer that can reach up to 6 feet in height. Best planted within a densely planted area or near the back of a small garden due to its height. Needs full sun but may grow shorter in partial shade. (Photo by Lisa Culp)
